Mark Jordan, Independent Director & Chairman
Mark Jordan, Chief Executive Officer of Refuel

Mark Jordan founded Refuel in 2008 and is a Co-Founder of FR Refuel, LLC and previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Jordan brings over 20 years of experience in the ownership, operation, development, and acquisition of convenience stores. His extensive background spans key industry-relevant fields including economics, real estate, and finance.

A 1993 graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Mr. Jordan continues to play a prominent leadership role in the industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) and on ExxonMobil’s Advisory Council.

Michael Crosby has been working since 2024 with Refuel as Lead Independent Director and brings 30+ years of leadership experience to the company. Michael has spent significant time in Energy industry and was formerly Executive Vice President of Global Land at World Fuel Services Corporation, responsible for leading the company’s global commercial fuel and energy business. Prior to joining World Fuel Services Corporation, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer of Next Generation Energy Logistics, a private equity-backed fuel and lubricants distribution business. He has also served as President of Maxum Petroleum’s industrial business and was Chief Operating Officer at Irving Oil. Michael is also Chairman of the Board for Lamons Corporation based in Houston and an independent Director at Paraco Gas in Rye Brook NY. He also served as an Independent Director at Dead River Corporation prior to their sale to Redwood Capital Partners in 2021. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Babson College and an MBA from Western New England University in Massachusetts.

Mr. Reaves serves as a Managing Partner at First Reserve. His responsibilities include overall firm management as well as deal origination and sourcing, due diligence and structuring, financing and transaction execution, and ongoing portfolio management. He joined First Reserve in 2006. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was an Analyst in the Global Energy Group at UBS Investment Bank. He also spent time as an Analyst in Financial Advisory Services for Howard Frazier Barker Elliott, Inc.

Mr. Wizel serves as a Managing Partner at First Reserve. His responsibilities include overall firm management as well as deal origination and sourcing, due diligence and structuring, financing and transaction execution, and ongoing portfolio management. He joined First Reserve in 2007. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was a member of the Investment Staff at Greenbriar Equity Group, a transportation–focused private equity firm. Prior to Greenbriar, he was a Financial Analyst in the Leveraged Finance/Financial Sponsor Group at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Mr. Steen serves as a Managing Director on First Reserve’s investment team, and his responsibilities include origination and sourcing, due diligence and structuring, financing and transaction execution, as well as ongoing portfolio management. He joined First Reserve in 2011. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division, Global Energy Group, at Credit Suisse.

Cathleen Ellsworth is a Partner at Lindsay Goldberg where she’s a member of the investment committee and leads the firm’s capital formation and investor relations efforts. Ms. Ellsworth has been responsible for raising over $30 billion in private equity and infrastructure, having spent 27 years with First Reserve and four years with BlackRock, prior to joining Lindsay Goldberg.

Mr. Fischer serves as a Director on First Reserve’s investment team, and his responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence and structuring, financing and transaction execution, as well as ongoing portfolio assistance and monitoring. He joined First Reserve in 2017 from the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.
Travis Smith

 Travis partnered with Mark Jordan in 2016 and co-founded FR Refuel with First Reserve. He has led the company’s acquisition-based growth strategy, expanding Refuel from South Carolina across the Southeastern United States. Prior to his role as Co-CEO he served as Co-President, Chief Development Officer and General Counsel of the Company. Prior to founding FR Refuel he previously worked at Susser Holdings Corporation and Sunoco and started his career at the law firm of Locke Lord, LLP. He attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with B.A. in Government in 2002 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from South Texas College of Law in 2005.

Ron Rier, Leader of Refuel

Jon Rier joined Refuel in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer, where he led the company’s Finance, Accounting, HR and IT functions. His strategic oversight and financial leadership have been integral to Refuel’s growth and operational excellence. From January 2024 to July 1, 2025, Mr. Rier served as Co-President of Refuel, guiding the company through a pivotal period of operational expansion and cross-functional integration. Before joining Refuel, Mr. Rier spent 14 years at RaceTrac Petroleum, where he held several senior leadership roles in strategic analysis, finance, and fuel operations. Mr. Rier graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He later completed a Master’s in Accounting at Georgia State University in 2020.
